I’m interested in planning a trip for late December/early January. Airfare is over $2000! Ahhh! So much for that idea.
as an Aussie living in the US i have done that trip too many times to count…always from Atlanta, but not much different from NY…
find yourself a flight to the west coast…most people choose to fly out of LA but its so crowded and congested that ive learnt my lesson and wont do that again…
try flying out of San Fransisco…much better airport, less people and honestly i have found the staff to be friendlier and more accommodating…
the cheapest flights i have found are always with Air New Zealand…they are awesome to fly with. you can get a flight to either Sydney or Cairns (my home town) through Auckland…
it is always cheaper to book flights on the web directly from the airline…i like Delta for flights within the US…
Airfare Hong Kong to shanghai Where can I travel in Asia from Shanghai the cheapest?
I’m staying in Shanghai for several months. I only have a 60 day visa so I am planning to leave the country the weekend of July 4 and reenter to renew it; this gives me a good excuse to explore another city. I would like to spend under $400 US on airfare. The only flights I have found for less are to Hong Kong or Seoul. I am not thrilled about going to Hong Kong–I want to experience something different. Right now Seoul is my first choice. Does anyone know of any cheaper flights to outside China from Shanghai?

I want to go to India and want to save on my airfare – Does anyone know is it still possible to fly standby – used to be able to do it but with all the bull.. that gone down in last few yrs petrol cost security issues etc – I’m not sure if one can still do this – and of course travel agents act as if they are dumb when asked about it – would be Malaysia or Singapore airlines

Going to Cabo for Honeymoon in August. Looked last week the prices were about 550 pp non stop. Looked today and they were 750+. I am 8 months out and I have been to mexico the past few summers and never paid this much. I just saw a special on tv on how two people sitting right next to each other paid different prices by about $600. The special also showed that 64 different rates were sold to people. when is the best time and place to buy tickets for my honeymoon.

It’s really the luck of the draw. You have to be checking fares just at the right moment in time to nail the cheapest. Airlines constantly monitor their own situation and what the competition is/are doing. They will generally release a small number of seats (could be 2, could be 4, could be ?) at a reduction, and when those are gone, the seat sale is over. This scenario could repeat itself a couple of weeks later if business is slow, or if one of the other airlines decides to reduce their fares. Or, it may not even happen again for that flight.
I have to travel during second week of June, with my two kids. The travel agent is quoting $1600 for each ticket on Air India. If somebody can provide me information on better deals, please pass it onto me.
